The two opposite personalities.

I had read this week in a magazine about two opposite personalities and i wanted to share it with you. Here before i progress i want to acknowledge that i'm really novice to politics and general affairs and all that i share are all the limited knowledge i have and i would appreciate ur comments.

There has been a lot of news made after the death of Hussain.Almost 2 to 3 pages were devoted in The Hindu to M.F.Hussain.I'm too illiterate to appreciate about art,but what i don't agree to is in media it is made as if in India we didn't give him a life he deserved and that he didn't deserve to spend his last few years in exile.I would like to share first a few of his paintings that had been subject to controversies.
The one thing to be observed here is that his obscene art was only limited to hindu gods and he refused even to offer an apology for hurting the feelings of Hindus and claims it to be his freedom of expression.

M.F.Hussain's Hypocrisy

Goddess Durga in sexual union with a Tiger
Muslims ladies fully clothed
Goddess Lakshmi naked on Sree Ganesh's head
M.F. Husain's mother fully clothed
Naked SaraswatiMother Teresa fully clothed
Naked Sree ParvatiHusain's daughter well clothed
Naked Draupadi. Well clothed Muslim Lady.
Naked Lord Hanuman and Goddess Sita sitting on the thigh of RavanaMuslim poets Faiz are Galib are shown well-clothed

Fully clad Muslim King and a naked Hindu Brahmin. The above painting clearly indicates Husain's tendency to paint a Hindu in the nude and thus openly expose his hatred for Hindus.
Naked Bharatmata - Husain has shown a naked woman with names of states written on different parts of her body. He has used the Ashok Chakra of the Tri-colour in the painting. By doing this he has violated the law & hurt the National Pride of Indians. Both these things should be of grave concern to every Indian irrespective of his religion.
Out of the four leaders, M. Gandhi is decapitated and Hitler is naked. Husain hates Hitler and has said in an interview 8 years ago that he depicted Hitler naked so as to humiliate him as he deserves it ! How come Hitler's nudity caused humiliation when in Husain's own statement nudity in art depicts purity and is in fact an honour ! This shows Husain's hypocrisy and perversion.

The other personality that i want to talk about is Bismillah Khan.He was awarded the Bharath Ratna, the highest Indian civilian award.Though a pious Shitte Muslim, he was also, like many Indian musicians, regardless of religion, a devotee of Saraswathi, the Hindu Goddess of wisdom and arts, and often played at Hindu temples, including the famous Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, on the banks of the river Ganges. He used his music to reach to God.Bismillah lived to soothe souls of many generations and is what i would consider pure art.

Also unlike Hussain's gimmicks of a rich lifestyle but not wearing shoes cannot stand in front of the simple and ordinary life of Bismillah khan.

Also i wanted to share this piece of an an interview published in INDIA TODAY, July 15, 1986, pp. 122-131

"Uncle used to do his riyaz (practice) at the temple of Balaji (an avtaar of Vishnu) for 18 years. He told me to do the same thing. I would begin my riyaz at the mandir at 7 pm and end at 11 pm during which time I usually played four ragas. After a year and half, Mamu told me, 'if you see anything just don't talk about it'. One night as I was playing, deep in meditation, I smelled something. It was an indescribable scent, something like sandalwood and jasmine and incense. I thought it was aroma of Ganges. But the scent got more powerful. I opened my eyes - and when I speak about it I still get goose flesh - when I opened my eyes, there was Balaji standing right next to me, kamandal in hand, exactly as he is pictured. My door was locked from inside. Nobody was allowed to enter when I did my riyaz. He said 'play, son'. But I was in cold sweat. I stopped playing."

"He smiled, and disappeared. I unlocked the door. I thought a faqir may have come in. I took a lantern and searched all streets. They were empty. I ran home, ate quickly and slept. Mamu had understood what had happened. But he teased me, pretending he knew nothing, But as I blurted out the experience, Mamu slapped me, because he had asked me earlier not to talk about anything that might happen to me. Then he kissed me and asked me to go and buy vegetables. Mamu always told me 'never look back, keep going forward'. Even now I go to Balaji's mandir alone, at night and play all by myself. When I play before others, in my heart I'm listening to my gurus. In my heart, they clap for me at the appropriate time."
"In music, the sur is a clean thing, it is a pure thing. It cannot be deceived and it cannot deceive anybody. It is like a mirror in which you see the world, in which I see my own face when I play. When I start playing, the mind wanders here and there and takes me with it. But all the time I am striving for the assar. But when that comes, when the sur clicks, it is like I am unconscious and the heart has taken over. Sometimes I don't understand who is playing. Or I feel that I am playing at the mazaar, or in front of ancient sages. And all I can think of is 'he mere maalik tu mujhe lele (God, take me away), tu hi nirankaar, tu hee phool aur phal mein (God, You alone are formless, You alone in flower or fruit).'"

"I am getting old now. Not in my heart. But in my body. The heart yearns to go on and on but this body sometimes tires and these wretched knees start aching after four hours of playing. And I now have that all-too-human worry. Thirty years ago, I used to think I had conquered or was about to conquer the world. What foolishness! Now I say, Bismillah, you haven't reached anywhere. The world may know and listen to your ragas, but Bismillah, life will soon finish and your yearnings will still remain. This music is still an ocean. I want to cross it. But I have barely reached the shore. I haven't yet even taken a dip in it."

What a difference in their personalities!!

The real story of Kashmir.

I had long been thinking about publishing a post on Kashmir considering that it would educate many like me,who know very little about our own state. But what prompted me to publish this post today is blog by Advaniji.http://blog.lkadvani.in/blog-in-english/two-missed-opportunities-six-disastrous-consequences#comments

Kashmir had been at the heart of the Sindh river the birth place of our indus valley civilization. It had been the witness of many turkish and muslim invaders. At the time of independence Kashmir was ruled by a hindu ruler who didn't want to join either India or Pakistan. But an imminent attack from Pakistan made Raja Hari Singh to enter into a treaty with India similar to the one entered by other Indian princely states.

So Indian army advanced into the Kashmir territory and they were making great advances when our PM Jawaharlal Nehru took the most fatal steps. He called the UN to intervene. The UN asked both Indian and Pakistanis to vacate the area and the vote of the people to decide to join either India or Pakistan. But Pakistan didn't vacate the area and plebiscite(vote) wasn't taken.

Then India in it's constitution gave a special status to Kashmir by Article 370.Kashmir is the only state to have  a separate constitution. Thanks to our PM Nehru.Until I read Advani blog I Didn't know that they had a separate flag too!

Though Article 370 which gives Kashmir a special status was envisaged as a temporary measure only.As soon as a constituent assembly in Kashmir was formed Article 370 was to be cancelled by the President. But we know the courage of congress from the death sentence of Afzal Guru.So article 370 continues to this date.

The territory of Kashmir very different from one we read in our maps

File:Kashmir map.jpg

Also in a war with Pakistan during Indra Gandhi's tenure Indian army captured several square miles of kashmir territory and we had nearly 9000 war prisoners. But in the Simla accord India gave the territory own by army and the war prisoners to Pakistan(hey we are a soft state). What made Indra to make such a decision which will weaken us in the long run i never know. But it was the blunderous of the blunderous decision.
Now we the people of India are paying for the faults of Nehru family.
@Kashmiri pandits were driven out of kashmir in 1980's
@Attempts are made to increase the muslim population so as to project it as a muslim state and to accede to Pakistan
@ISI sponsored terrorism in Kashmir and other parts of India.

And we see our  great economist MMS talking of self rule to Kashmir.
This will only weaken our federal system and weaken our security structure. Only a good administration in Kashmir and the scrapping of Art 370 can save our nation. This we can never expect from our weak PM or our efficient Foreign Affairs ministry(who will read a portugese report at UN or will help China build a dam across Brahmaputra)vote bank centered ruling party :( :(

Other highlights of our PM Nehru which our history books didn't teach
1.Refused a Permanent seat in UN when China was to be removed from permanent seat
2.Failed foreign policy - Problem of Arunachal Pradesh

Narendra Modi,The True Indian.

There are very few politicians today who as i said in the previous blog can be a leader of the masses, who can talk development and share aspirations of youths.

Narendra Modiji is one of those very few.Narendra Modi is the longest serving chief minister of Gujarat from 2001.He was born on 17 Sep 1950 in Vadnagar of what was then Bombay StateIndia. He is a political science graduate from Gujarat university.During the Indo-Pak war in the mid sixties, even as a young boy, he volunteered to serve the soldiers in transit at railway stations. In 1967, he served the flood affected people of Gujarat. As a young man, he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, a student organization and was involved in the anti-corruption Movement. After working as a full time organizer for the organization, he was later nominated as its representative in the Bharatiya Janata Party.

During the BJP rule at centre he handled the sensitive areas of India like Kashmir and  North Eastern states. His tenure as CM of gujarat has been impressive. But before going into the specifics of his monumental development tasks, let us look into the two issues that the Media continuously deploy to defame him.

Media associates Mr.Modi with Godhra Violence. How could the media be so irresponsible and tarnish the image of a person who is elected through people's verdict remains to be answered,(but what can we expect with  journalists like Barkha and Vir Shangvi colluding with politicians and industrialists)

 Coming to Modi's role
*It has beeen proved that the train burning was pre-planned by muslim fundamentalists in which Hindu Pilgirims travelling by train were stopped at Godhra, petrol was thrown and the compartment was set to fire, stones were thrown at people trying to escape
* A total of 58 Hindu pilgrims (23 men, 15 women and 20 children) (Feb 27 2002)
*This infuriated Hindus and this led to violence.(Feb 28 2002)
*Modi brought in the army to quell the violence.
*Records show 21,563 preventive arrests were made by the end of April (17,947 of the arrested were listed as Hindus and 3,616 as Muslims) as well as 13,989 substantive arrests (9,954 Hindus and 4,035 Muslims). Both Hindus and Muslims died in the riots and police firing.
*Modi's government arrested Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers and Hindu activists involved in the riots.
*At the same time, about two hundred policemen lost their lives trying to control the violence in Gujarat.
*Modi dissolved assembly and won again the people's mandate.
*The SIT(special investigating team)of Supreme court cleared him of any charge in failure of efforts to contain violence
But the Media still talk ill of him.It has forgotten it's ethics and it's duty to report on facts looking for every opportunity to fool it's viewers and sensationalize the news.

Cho Ramaswamy views on Godhra incident

*Shorrabudin Sheik[Source:Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sohrabuddin_Sheikh_fake_encounter]

Is terrorism not the biggest problem of this country. The recent wikileaks revealed plans of LeT to look for setting up positions in Southern states. Not just India but the world at large is helpless in front of terrorism. What is needed to quell terrorism is a strong leadership, effective legislations. When a person poses a larger threat to the society then  to avoid the possible delay  and escape in the judicial process encounter killings becomes applicable. One look at Gujarat Map leaves me appalled. The disputed area with Pakistan Sir Creek is in Kutch,Gujarat. If terrorism has to tackled it can only be done the hard way,not like what Congress does with Afzal Guru or Kasab.

*Shorabbudin was a criminal from  Madhya Pradesh with 13 criminal cases against him from Udaipur Ahmedabad and Ujjain. He was a driver for the Abdul Latif gang, which had connections with Dawood Ibrahim. In 1995, two AK-56 rifles were recovered from a well in the agricultural field of Sohrabuddin.
* Yet media and human rights activities mourn as if a great leader has been killed and continuously defame Narendra Modi.

Cho Ramaswamy's views on Terror

Modi's development has been phenomenal. He has even made his critics admire his work. His blog is really amazing and it is told that he spends considerable time to blog and tweet and reads the comments that we leave his blog and occassionally replies to the comments too.
Visit his blog and his website and gujarat website and spend considerable time reading and thinking about all these views. You will understand that he is a leader of substance and a leader of the youth of today

A Leader Of the nation-My Expectations

It is not just me but we all youngsters want to see our country as a super power leading the way forward for other nations. But what we see is little progress and problems like terrorism, infiltration in kashmir, naxalite menace, unequal distribution of wealth and not to mention corruption is eating our country.

India with it's vibrant culture and democracy can make great strides if we get leaders of great vision and commitment. Our culture(our values, beliefs, thoughts think and reflect for a few minutes) is something that every Indian can be proud of.There is life in whatever we do,a human touch and compassion and a healthy way of life that has been passed along for centuries.

The constitution is also unique. It is the lengthiest written document in the world. If it has been possible for our democracy to exist as a unit for such a long time it is partly attributable to our Constitution.I ll share what i know about our constitution in future blogs.

A leader of the nation for me should have the following characteristics
*An understanding about our country,it's heritage, diversity, history and values.
*Vision for the country
*Able to foresee and forestall problems
*Strong in his thoughts and action
*Committed to his works
*Understands the responsibilities of people's mandate
*Imbibe a sense of patriotism,a sense of pride in the people and take them along in the development process
*Shows Zero tolerance to corruption and extremist elements.
*Make the youth play a part in the development process and share their aspirations for the development of this country-after all we are 50% of this country's population.

If we as responsible citizens think and decide on what kind of a leader we want to lead from the front, what kind of members we want to be seated in our Parliament and assembly and cast our votes we will have leaders of substance. It is time we literate and young people vote consciously and make a continuous assessment of our politicians to have a leader who shares our vision.

                                       Happy to be Indian...!

The Indian media

I would like to start my blog by paying tribute to our freedom fighters and the army personnel who defend our country and all those who worked in their own ways for the development of this country....

I feel that there is a prime need for us to talk about our country, the happenings that affect our development after all we youngsters make up half of this country's population and we do have big aspirations for our country....I believe a  healthy debate can go a long way...So let us discuss and debate not just in the bloggosphere but in the real world too...

The recent controversy over the NiraRadia tapes have been a blessing. It has enabled us to take note of the dangerous nexus that exists between corporates, journalists and some political parties.I watch Barkha's 'We the people' regularly  and i had always looked up to(except her debate title 'The hindu terror' will she dare to use another religion name) her for her abilities,a women in a man's world, the Padmabhushan....

I feel it is important for us to not just satisfy ourselves with what the main stream media says but we need to make our own  assessments from various happenings. After all if a journalist utters "What should I say(Write)how can we believe him/her....  There is indeed a lot the media can do for the country's development but they are choosing to focus on their revenue stream. They are sensationalizing news and are not being effective watch dog's of democracy...

A couple of pointers in this direction.

->More recently in Bihar JD(U)+BJP combine made a landslide victory. The news made headlines but they lacked an analysis, which I feel was deliberate.

The JD(U) won 115 out of 141 seats it contested(81% of contested seats), and BJP winning 91 out of 102 seats it
contested(nearly 90% of contested seats). Also Advaniji in his
campaign has pointed to the fact that of all states in India
Gujarat is the state where the % of people is lesser than
any.People have substantiated his claims by giving a clear
mandate[based on inputs from a good magazine].

But no news channel provided an analysis of this
kind and they all along talked about Nitish Kumar and the
reason for Bihar result to be keeping Modi out of Bihar. What
a fool they out of people mandate.

->Kashmir is a big problem for India. But did media focus on giving the right analysis. They do not give the attention to Kashmir Pandits,Kashmir accedence to India,Kashmir's history...They instead feel it good to senstionalise about Arundati Roy.

->There are a lot of development schemes that media can talk about. The Green Revolution being a success had been attributed to All India Radio. They talked to farmers about development.Instead our media choose to focus on Arushi murder or other Bollywood Happenings...

->And why did the media became so very interested in parliamentary deadlock and common wealth games at the last moment when they never carried any information about the happenings in the house(except for LOK SABHA Tv which air's House Highlights at 9.30 PM which i'm sure many of us don't know exists) or when common wealth preparation had been going on for years.

Shame on you Indian media for letting us down and happy that media of your kind didn't exist during national movement or else who knows the freedom struggle wouldn't have acquired the form it did those days.

I strongly feel we should stop watching

thesechannels(NDTV,Times NOW,CNN-IBN..)except for the headlines and start discussions. When each of us discuss and pose questions the logical outcome would be much better....
